Driving and Parking Directions:

The Pennsylvania State University at University Park is located in central Pennsylvania, a 15-minute drive from I-80.

The campus is a 4-hour drive from Washington, D.C., Cleveland, and New York City.

Parking is free on campus the day of the symposium (see below).

Driving Directions to the Music Building:

From New York City and the East:

Take I-80 W in PA to Exit 161 (Bellefonte). Follow PA 26 S to US 220 S, and take Exit 74 for Innovation Park/Penn State University. Stay in the left lane of the exit and follow the sign for Penn State University. This will become Park Avenue. Travel Park Avenue to the stoplight at Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street. The Music Building will be on the left side.

From Philadelphia:

Take the PA Turnpike/I-76 W to Exit 247 (Harrisburg East), and follow signs for the next 15 miles to Route 322 W. Take 322 W past Lewistown toward State College (staying on 322 W at Boalsburg), and take the Penn State University/Innovation Park Exit. Turn right at the stoplight and follow Park Avenue. Travel Park Avenue to the stoplight at Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street. The Music Building will be on the left side.

From Harrisburg:

Take 322 W past Lewistown toward State College (staying on 322W at Boalsburg), and take the Penn State University/Innovation Park Exit. Turn right at the stoplight and follow Park Avenue. Travel Park Avenue to the stoplight at Allen Street. Turn left on Allen Street. The Music Building will be on the left side.

From Pittsburgh:

Take Route 22 E to Duncansville. Merge onto Route 220/I-99 N toward Altoona and go north for 55.4 miles. Turn right onto US 220 toward State College for 11.5 miles; merge onto Route 322 E to State College. Exit onto Business Route 322/N. Atherton Street, past a variety of businesses. At the light at Park Avenue, turn left. Follow Park Avenue to the light for Allen Street. Make a right onto Allen Street. The Music Building will be on the left side.

From the West:

Free Parking:

Free on-campus parking for the Thompson Symposium is available in the parking lot of the Music Building, and at the Nittany Parking Deck. From Allen Street (across from the Music Building), take Fischer Road about one block, past the Moore and Cedar Buildings. The Nittany Parking Deck will be on the left side.
