Recording Lab

A small number of advanced students have access to the recording lab, which consists of a mixing station and a soundbooth. This lab features a 5.1 sound system, Digital Performer 4 and Pro Tools software, and a variety of synthesizers.

Piano Lab

The School of Music piano lab consists of 17 Yamaha Clavanovas. These weighted key, MIDI-capable instruments are used to teach secondary piano to virtually every student enrolled as a music major in the School of Music at Penn State. The controller unit permits high efficiency of instruction on the part of the teacher, yet allows each student's needs and problems to be individually addressed. In addition, the lab is open for students to practice several hours a week.
