Audio CDs
Audio CDs hold AIFF files specially encoded so that they will play in a CD player, such as the one in your car or your stereo system.
To make an audio CD, use iTunes.
Create a new playlist (File -> New Playlist).
Drag your audio files into it. Drag them up or down so that they are listed in the order you would like them to appear on the CD.
Insert a blank CD into the computer. Click the BURN button in iTunes. Your playlist will be burned to an audio CD.
CD-ROMs
CD-ROMs are also 7 1/2" discs like the discs used for audio CDs.
CD-ROMs contain files that can be read by a computer. They cannot be used in a stereo CD player.
To burn files onto a CD-ROM, insert a blank disc into the computer.
An Untitled CD icon will appear on the Desktop.
Drag files onto it just as you could a memory stick.
When you want to burn the CD-ROM, double-click it to open the icon and see the list of your files. Click the BURN button to create a CD-ROM containing those files.
